The Challenge

ICICI Lombard is one of India’s premier insurance providers. They receive hundreds of thousands of insurance claims every month and their Car Accident Insurance division wanted a way to automate the detection of damage to a car, post the accident. This can enable them to estimate the cost of repair and the extent of the accident. They reached out to us to construct complex polygonal annotations on dented cars.

The Solution

Karya workers looked at images of dented cars, and drew complex annotations around the contours of the dent, using Karya’s desktop-based Labely Platform. Each dent was classified into one of 10 categories, and natural occurrences such as shade and glow were separately annotated.
