Karya / कार्य is the Sanskrit word for “work that gives one dignity”.
That's what we do. We bring dignified, digital work to rural Indians, helping move them out of poverty.
Every year, big tech companies spend billions of dollars collecting training data for their AI models. Unfortunately, rural Indians don't have access to this work.
Karya bridges this gap.

Karya will always choose maximising worker wages over our own company profit.
Impact-first enterprise
Karya will follow the guidelines of a social enterprise, as described by Mohammad Yunus, which is any profit earned by the company will be redirected to our workers, and help us improve their wellbeing.
Profits for people
Any profits from reselling of datasets will be diverted back to the people who collected.
Open Source
The core Karya platform (our Android app and our client dashboard) will remain open-source, to enable people everywhere to build on our work, and deploy similar models in other countries.
Ethical Data
We will be an industry leader in building ethical ways of data collection that fairly reward data collectors.
